I build my calves differently than any other muscle. The reason for this is that we use our calves every time we walk so calves are endurance muscles.

The most important calf exercise is standing calf raises this works you gastrocnemius your biggest calf muscle. Using a smith machine work the best, get a block or platform to stand on or use weight plates.

As supplemental exercises do seated calf raises to work your soleus calf muscle. Also you can lift your calves higher without shoes so consider doing it without shoes. I also like doing them while going up steps if you feel the burn it is working.

The burn is from the lactic acid build up in your legs. Calves take a long time to build up, but if you do standing calf raises until you feel the burn a few times a week you will see results within a few weeks.

Beginner – Developing Your First Workout

Now it is time to develop a workout plan. These will be the exercises you do the first few weeks at the gym. You may only want to do a few exercises for each muscle group, maybe even one. I would recommend doing 2 or 3 sets of 10 to 12 repetitions.

You should do multi-joint exercise first because you need more energy for these exercises and you use more than one muscle such as a chest press you work your chest, shoulders and triceps.

Some good multi-joint exercises for beginners are chest press (machine) and a squat (machine). Yes, I highly recommend machines for your initial workout program. Chest press and squats with free weights can be very hard to have correct form.

To find out more about how to do exercises and a list of exercise go to bodybuilding.com they feature videos, pictures and text descriptions.

A word of advice don't try to do a workout that an expert does or even an intermediate weight lifter. This will most likely cause you to feel very sore and give up or just overwhelmed.

Weight lifting is something you have to ease into. You don't have to work as hard as an intermediate or expert weight lifter to stimulate your muscle growth. So be thankful you don't have to lift to hard yet, more is not better in this case. Over training will result if you decide to work out too much as a beginner.

Beginner – Initial Bodybuilding Thoughts

Having never stepped into a gym before or having never really lifted weights it can be very overwhelming to start. Many people don’t start for the simple fact that they don’t know where to start. You don’t want to look like a fool or a wimp. The reality is most people at the gym don’t care much about how much you are lifting so very few people if any will notice that you are weak.

In fact, I myself and others at the gym will be likely to offer advice on your form for doing an exercise. There is also a directory of different exercise explanations at bodybuilding.com for you to look at pictures, videos and written explanations of numerous exercises.

As a beginner I would recommend doing exercise machines because you don’t have to have good form, but free weight exercises will have to be incorporated within the first month or two because they are more effective at building muscle because they recruit more muscle fibers.

You may also want to seek advice at the gym; this can be very helpful so that you don’t have to struggle to figure out what to do. It is also good to ask someone if you are doing an exercise correctly so that you reduce the risk of having an injury.
There are also numerous great products to help you out at Health Fitness Reports with numerous user feedback and ratings of the top bodybuilding information products on the net.

Dynamic Workout

To continue to cause new stimulation and overload to your muscles it is important to have a dynamic workout. What I mean by this is to cycle your workouts. The main reason why you must change your workout is that your body adapts to a specific exercise after doing it over and over. This will eventually stop causing new stress on your muscle so you will eventually reach a plateau.

To avoid this and to increase your size and strength more quickly you can simply cycle your workouts. Generally you should cycle your workout about after a month.

There is more than one way to cycle your workouts. You can change the exercises that you do, you can change the repetition numbers that you do, you can change the number of sets that you do and change the order of your exercises. You can do any combination of alterations that you want depending on your goals.

I usually always change the number of repetitions that I do because different repetition numbers will either allow for more strength gains, power gains or size gains depending on the amount of repetitions.

Look for more tips on this subject in the near future.

Hard Gainers

Being a hard gainer it is very hard to gain weight and build muscle. You need to know how to eat and you need to follow that eating plan all the time. I myself being a hard gainer have had to deal with those exact problems and I overcame them by having a good diet and working hard.

It is not easy to gain the muscle you want if you don't work out hard and eat right. I'm reminded of an e-book that is very popular it deals with those exact issues such as eating healthy or eating the right foods and doing the right workouts so that you truly can be successful. In the Vince Delmonte's No-Nonsense Muscle Building Reveiw an actual customer claims that they were a hard gainer and tried many other products. He said combining the best parts of those products was what No-nonsense muscle building e-book was like for him. There must be some reason to believe that this product will work for all hard gainers if they put in an honest effort.

Build My Muscles

This sites intent is to help people in the pursuit of learning how to achieve a muscular body or just wanting to tone up your body.
